Nice to Meet You // Gabe Bondoc

Last Saturday I met Gabe at Davis Sushi Buffet. My friends were afraid to walk up to him, so I decided to to approach him. I calmly approached Gabe after he place his name on the wait list and asked him what he was doing in Davis later that night. He said he was performing at a benefit concert in SciLec123. We then continued the conversation and I asked him about his upcoming music projects. He went on about his new album coming out in mid December and his next big show in SF on December 18th. He will self-produce his next album. Later that night I went to see him perform. He’s amazing live. I’m inspired to get in touch with my jazzy side again. I later found out that my dorm mate Emily is in love with Gabe.

Nice to Meet You // Tyler Weinrich

After Red Balloon, I had a couple of minutes to chat with Tyler. I found out that Tyler used to be the lead singer of a rock band called “Talk of the Town! and “Ten Falls Forth” He is  currently working on his solo project due out in February 2010. He is also starting a entertainment company out in Las Vegas and a hip-hop/r&b group. He’s a busy bee.  Check him out at http://www.myspace.com/tylerweinrich

Alejandro came to visit some of his friends from high school. He currently attends SF State. He likes The Fray.

I met Anna through a photo session. She is beautiful and talented. She sings and plays the guitar. She is an English major.

I had no idea Steven knew my dormmates. He’s from Union City. He lives off campus and swings by Regan Main to play the keys every now and then.

Nice to Meet You // Chris

I met Chris while he was dumping his trash into a self made compost bin. We both exchange couple words about the compost and its effect on the environment.

Nice to Meet You // Luke

Luke is the first stranger I met for this project. He is a Philosophy Major who loves music. I see him often near the quad singing and playing. I finally had the courage to drop by and say hi. He sang a song about JK Rowling while I took this shot. It was pretty funny.

Nice to Meet You…

Hi! How is everyone doing? I noticed I haven’t blogged in a minute. I should be studying but I’m excited to share my new project with you guys. Momma said don’t talk to strangers. Since she isn’t around I’m gonna talk to them.

The objective: Step out of your comfort zone. Go meet someone you don’t know and take a portrait of them. You must have permission to take their photo. Share your experience. Have fun and be safe.

The challenge: 100 portraits , 100 strangers, 100 stories.
